Rental fees stack up month after month with nothing to show for it. A Municipal Tank Works tank is a capital asset — it holds resale value and its total cost of ownership beats extended rental within 18–24 months. Need temporary capacity first? We offer rental on our own tanks by request — same shop-welded quality, no surprises. Rental payments can count toward purchase.
Our tanks come in any dimension, any lining, any nozzle layout — configured to your exact process, your site, and your standards. Not an off-the-shelf guess. No adapters. No workarounds.
Our shop-welded tanks are built for permanent installation with a 25-year minimum service life and full corrosion protection from day one. Not temporary duty equipment — a capital asset engineered for the long haul.
Product Lines
General industrial storage, mission-critical data center supply, and NFPA 22 fire suppression — three purpose-built product lines, all manufactured by Municipal Tank Works, LLC in Canton, Ohio.

The flagship EnviroBox line — single units to gravity-manifolded multi-unit systems. Every liquid, every industry, any site. Full custom configuration — any dimension, any lining, any nozzle layout — with Ohio-built quality and a 25-year service life.

N+1 redundant cooling water and fire suppression reserve tanks for Tier II–IV data centers. NSF 61 lined, SCADA-integrated, and FM Global approved. Zero tolerance for supply interruption.

Complete NFPA 22 fire water storage with integrated pump house — tank, pumps, UL-listed controller, test header, and piping factory-assembled and flow-tested. Set it, connect it, done.
Standard Models
Four standard configurations — 8 ft wide, 8 ft tall. Complete with structural rib grid, solid roof plate, I-beam skid, ladder with elbow transition, OSHA guardrail, manway, and vent. Custom sizes available on request.
Construction
Every EnviroBox tank — EnviroBox, DataFlow, and FireWater lines — is built on the same proven structural platform at our Canton, Ohio facility. Not assembled in the field. Not adapted from a trailer. Shop-welded, blast-cleaned, primed, and coated before it leaves our door.
All six faces fully welded in our shop — closed, solid, no field seams. Carbon steel plate sized to your volume and pressure requirements.
Deep structural channel ribs on all vertical faces carry the full hydrostatic load. No thin-wall construction — ribs run full height and connect at every horizontal band.
A genuine flat steel plate — not a shell, not a lid. Thick enough to walk on safely. Manway, vent, and accessories bolt directly to it.
Three longitudinal I-beam runners with cross-member tie bars. Sets directly on a grade pad — no concrete foundation required.
Fixed vertical ladder from grade to roof. Quarter-arc elbow at the top transitions rails from vertical to horizontal — continuous handhold as you step onto the roof deck.
Orange OSHA-compliant rail with toe plate on all four sides. Deliberate gap at the ladder side lets personnel step off cleanly — not an afterthought, an engineered feature.
Vertical Stacking
No other tank on the market stacks like EnviroBox. Upper unit skid welds directly to lower unit roof plate — zero gap, one continuous vessel. Available across all three product lines.
Upper skid welds directly to lower roof plate. No saddle frame, no gap. A dark seam band and weld highlights mark the joint — structurally and visually one vessel.
A single ladder runs from grade to the top unit's roof — rails, rungs, elbow transition, and handrail extensions in one continuous run up the entire stack.
External riser equalizes all chambers. Fill, vent, and outlet piping run as one integrated circuit — one connection point to your process or pump station.
Same grade pad as a single unit. No new concrete, no new footprint. Stack a second or third unit as your capacity needs grow.
Construction Sequence
Interactive 3D animation — watch a 53′ × 8′-6″ × 24′ modular tank go from flatbed delivery to fully assembled, course by course.
Three courses of externally braced steel panels, crane-set one at a time onto a gravel pad. Each course bolts to the one below — deck, rails, and ladder installed last. Watch the full sequence on loop.

Modular Scale-Out
4 × 40-foot EnviroBox vessels on a shared base manifold.
Four identical 40-foot EnviroBox units, manifolded at the base. Inflow enters the bottom of the lead tank at one end of the row and exits the bottom of the trailing tank at the opposite end — every additional tank adds capacity without re-engineering the system.
Process water enters the bottom of the first tank through the base manifold — fed from a pump, well, or upstream header.
The shared base manifold carries water tank-by-tank down the row. All four vessels rise to a common level — no pumps, no valves.
At steady state, water discharges from the bottom of the far tank at the opposite end. Add a fifth, sixth, or nth unit on the same manifold to grow with demand.
Options & Accessories
No field add-ons. No retrofits. Every option is designed, installed, and tested in the shop before your tank ships.
20" or 24" bolted roof manways with davit lifting arm for confined-space inspection access.
NSF 61 epoxy for potable water, polyurea or rubber for chemicals, HDPE-lined for aggressive hydrocarbons.
Ultrasonic sensors, float gauges, 4-20mA / Modbus RTU/TCP outputs, full SCADA and BMS integration.
Float or solenoid fill valve, high/low level alarms wired to your control panel or fire alarm system.
Spray-foam with aluminum jacketing and self-regulating heat trace for freeze protection in cold climates.
2"–12"+ flanged nozzles in any position and quantity — inlet, outlet, drain, overflow, sample, instrument.
Heated, insulated steel enclosure with fire pump, jockey pump, UL-listed controller, and test header — standard on FireWater.
Blast-clean, prime, and topcoat in any RAL or custom color. UV-stable, high-build, chemical-resistant exterior.
Beyond Storage
EnviroBox tanks aren't just storage. The same shop-welded platform powers complete treatment trains — equalization, MBBR biology, clarification, and discharge — or drops in as a single engineered stage to solve a specific problem in an existing system.
You don't need to replace your whole plant. A single EnviroBox stage can solve a specific bottleneck — add an EQ tank upstream to buffer high-strength batch loads before they upset your biology, retrofit an MBBR into an overloaded aerobic zone to multiply biological capacity, or drop in a final polishing tank before permit discharge. Same shop-welded platform, same nozzle coordination, same 25-year service life.
Smooth Out the Flow. Protect the Plant.
Shop-welded equalization tanks buffer diurnal surges, wet-weather events, batch dumps, and sanitation discharges before they reach downstream biology or chemistry. Consistent influent is the single biggest lever on plant performance — and the EnviroBox EQ delivers it in a permanent capital asset, not a rental.
Grow the Biology. Hit the Permit.
Moving bed biofilm reactors delivered as finished hardware — tank, stainless aeration grid, retention screens, and air header all shop-installed. Drop into an overloaded aerobic zone to multiply biological capacity, or run standalone as a side-stream reactor upstream of your main plant. No sludge recycle, no MLSS control, no clarifier-return loops.
Raw In. Reusable Out.
Four shop-welded stages — equalization, MBBR biology, clarification, and final tank — engineered together as one system. Nozzle positions, tank elevations, and piping interfaces are coordinated stage-to-stage in our shop, not guessed at in the field. One manufacturer, one warranty, one number to call.
Tell us your influent characteristics, flow rate, and permit requirements. We'll size the right stage or full train and turn around a quote in 48 hours.

From the Field
We were paying over $5,000 a month in rental costs for produced water storage. Two EnviroBox units covered the same volume, we own them outright, and we broke even in under 20 months. Should've done it sooner.
Our AHJ required NFPA 22 compliance for the fire water tank — MTW came back with a fully compliant FireWater unit, PE-stamped drawings, and delivery in eight weeks. Every other vendor we contacted couldn't meet the standard. Exactly what we needed.
The approval drawing process was fast and thorough. We specified our nozzle layout, lining, and color on Monday. We had drawings in our hands by Wednesday. Nothing went to the shop floor until we signed off. That's how it should work.
